I take full credit for the much hyped return of Lion Brand Cotton Ease. Now before you roll your eyes and call me Al Gore (as in claiming I invented the Internet and hanging chads), recall my March 2nd post eloquently titled, "Screw You Lion Brand."
While I started out complaining about not being able to acess the Lion Brand site once I had the attention of an actual Lion Brand employee I focused on the all important Cotton Ease issue. Why did they pull it? And when will they see the light and bring it back? And for goodness sakes let's have actual adult fashion-esque colors!
Recently, I have stumbled across several threads where knitters are gleefully discussing the return of Cotton Ease. I cannot seem to locate any of these threads now or for that matter any actual proof that it is coming back. Nonetheless, you should trust me becuase I have seen it. And not in a "I read blog of a girl whose cousin's uncle's friend's sister told them about it" in an urban legend kind of way. I have seen the new colors and read first hand that Cotton Ease would return in late November. There is a scrumptious chocolatey-latte color that makes me crave a biscotti.
Again, its return is all thanks to me and one little blog entry. It is the power of the written word people and I've got it. So allow me to rewrite the first verse or is it stanza of Foreigner's Juke Box Hero to the new classic Knitting Needle Hero;
Standing in the cafe, with her needles hung low
Couldn't get a skein, the yarn sold out don't ya know
Heard the clack of the needles, she could picture the scene
Put her ear to the wall, and ordered a coffee with cream
Oh I sooooo rock!
