Wow, it's actually kind of fascinating to look at! Are you going to leave the ends out, is that fringe? I think the fringiness is cool. :)

do i detect some...homespun in there? hm...i do know what you mean about a couple of skeins, i would get mad if i had to get 2 for a hat instead of 1. that, my dear, is why i have started spinning, because i am cheap, yet like really nice, pretty expensive things. and you, my dear are soon to get a sample, cause you are cute and sweet and awesome!! even henry rollins and nick cave think so!!

I really, really like this.
I too have heaps of one and two ball skeins lying around - did you use a pattern or just wing it? It doesn't look like it's just a rectangle. I really like the way you've done the fringe too.
I am going to have a go at something similar methinks.

There is in fact some homespun in there. It was my starting off yarns. I used the scrap wrap pattern from the Interweave Knits but once I got to the shoulders area I began increasing four stitches per row until I was happy. Also, I used size 17 needles instead of the 15s.
This is going out as a swap item on craftster.......hope the swappee likes it.
Aw, shucks Natasha!

Ooooh, it's beautimus! I really need to do this with all those single-skeins of vintage yarn I've come across and couldn't resist! I love all the different textures of yours, and how the colors are all so different, yet seem to blend so well. Is there some Landscapes in there too?

I would definitely love it if I was the swappee! Well done.. Is this the one - http://www.interweave.com/knit/interweave_knits/ashley.asp - or is it a different one?

There is landscapes too. What a yarn eye you guys have got! Lee you have got the right pattern.
None of my yarns looked like they matched either and until it was done, it didn't really come together. Then it suddenly seemed perfect uncoordinated-coordinated if you know what I mean.

That is so fabulous!! Did you use a pattern???? I'm just coming out of that buy two skeins mentality!!

Thanks Bonnie, I'll let you know when I get it done and have a photo. Thanks for the tip about it all coming together in the end, it's so easy to get disillusioned halfway through.

There's also a pattern on gritty knits knitting more on a diagonal.
I really like the drape of this one, great job!
It's very, very deconstructed looking and I'm a big sucker for that stuff. ;)
